Blacks and Jews have strong ties based on religious texts, communal traditions, popular culture, and shared lessons drawn from their experiences of marginality and persecution. Through readings, discussions, guest lectures, and site visits, this course helps students understand how the Black-Jewish relationship has defined and shaped America.
